How long does it take for Nexium to work?
Nexium 24HR 20mg typically takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour to work. But, it can take 4-5 hours for esomeprazole to start working. With continuous use, they can control acid at the acidity of your stomach. With a dose of 20mg, you are usually able to use them for 12 hours. With a dose of 40mg, you can use them for 24 hours. The maximum daily dose is 80mg.
If you are taking Nexium 24HR 20mg as needed, your body will not allow the medicine to be released continuously. However, if your medicine is constantly taking effect, your body will become accustomed to it. With continuous use, you are able to use them for up to 12 hours. With a dose of 20mg, you are able to use them for up to 24 hours.
